I was archiving again to make room for Kathryne von Marks tomorrow and I realized I'd neglected this shoot where we just talked and took photos. This is the set where Betcee just rolled naked on the carpet, her natural state, and we talked and joked for nearly an hour. Midway through the set I got this astonishing series of portraits that shows just how amazingly expressive she is!
My Fourth session with this wonderful woman.
A bit different this time. We simply got together and talked and took pictures. No scenarios, no elaborate poses no studio set-ups just a place to shoot and four hours of non stop conversation with pictures.
The lower left frame really stands out to me for two very different reasons.
For one, she has a kind of sly, twisted look about her like she wants something and is mentally working out the best way to go about asking for it. C'mon, David. Let her have another slice of strawberry shortcake.
My second reason is that it's the only frame where she's not involved with looking at (or maybe even remembering) the eye of the camera. While nearly everything you've shown us of her gives off a feel like she's perfectly comfortable in the company of both you and the camera, this one seems go far beyond all that and let's the viewer feel more like a fly on the wall rather than another person in the room.
I'm sure I'm talking too much about just a single square on a large canvas, but I felt it's probably important to you to hear what the grouping does for someone else.
To BOTH of you, all I can say (other than all the other stuff I say, of course) is Respect! Not every image will make the world shake, but the two of you produce some of the best when you get together. I almost feel like I'm getting to know you both like old friends and we've never even met. That says a hell of a lot about your chemistry together and the skillz you bring to the craft.

If I give her another piece of strawberry shortcake I won't get any!!
Wow!
We do have a great relationship. This is the shoot where we really became friends. It was the next one where we really talked about our friendship. It had been building, but this one, for me, was both a breakthrough for us photographically but in the intimacy of our work together.
Thanks.

It shows, and that closeness will certainly shine through in your future sessions together. A lot of artists across a lot of different Arts can only dream of that kind of mutual trust. )

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
